China: Hong Kong Bapist University

Study in the busiest and fastest growing city in China at the Hong Kong Baptist University.  Founded in 1956, Hong Kong Baptist University strives to give students a “whole-person education” by challenging them intellectually, professionally, physically, and morally.  The University has eight Faculties/Schools/Academy: Arts, Business, Chinese Medicine, Communication, Science, Social Science, and Visual Arts.

School of the Arts: Chinese Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Humanities, Music, Religious Studies, and Translation.

School of Business: Accounting, Applied Economics, China Business Studies, Finance, Human Resources Management, Information Systems and e-Business Management, Marketing.

School of Communication: Broadcast Journalism, Chinese Journalism, Cinema and Television, Digital Graphic Communication, International Journalism, Organizational Communication, Public Relations and Advertising.

Faculty of Science: Applied Biology, Applied Chemistry, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Computing Studies, Mathematical Science, Applied Physics, Statistics and Operational Research.

Faculty of Social Sciences: History, China Studies—Economics, China Studies—Geography, China Studies—History, China Studies—Sociology, European Studies, Geography, Government and International Studies, Sociology, Social Work.

Students can choose and enroll in any courses with academic advising approval.  Students need to take a minimum of 12 credits but can exceed no more than 18.


Students must have successfully completed one year of university study, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and an endorsement from their home institution. 


 Students are housed in the Student Residence Halls on the Baptist University Road Campus.  Typically, two students (students have the option to share with a local student, Mainland Chinese student, or an international student) share a room that is equipped with air-conditioning.  Students are provided with a bed, closet, desk and shelf, one chair, and one LAN point connected to the University’s network system.  Every two rooms share a common restroom and shower.  Other facilities include a common lounge on each floor, music/TV room, multi-purpose room, recreation room, a karaoke room, a computer room, a gym room, a study room, and a laundry area.  Meals are not included.
