Marist Named a "Military Friendly" SchoolOctober 1, 2012
Marist College has been named by G.I. Jobs.com as a “Military Friendly School” in recognition of the excellent services and programs it provides to support its student veterans and active duty military. G.I. Jobs is a top source for veterans seeking information on higher education and civilian careers.
The survey-driven list has been published annually since 2001. The 2013 list includes more than 1,700 schools that represent the top 15 percent of U.S. colleges and universities doing the most to educate America’s veterans and active duty military. Marist and the other “Military Friendly Schools” offer student veterans the best services, programs, discounts, scholarships, clubs, networking, and staff.
The list measures the programs and services important to the military community, including: a school’s flexibility in accommodating veterans; veteran student support; academic accreditation; percentage of student veterans; tuition discounts; and military spouse policies. A Military Friendly Schools Academic Advisory Board composed of higher education professionals helps determine the survey questions and weightings.
