Offering students over 11 concentration choices, including Data Center Technologies, American Studies, and Communication and the Arts, Marist presents students with the unique opportunity to create their own major by choosing two concentrations. By including typical foundations such as Writing for College, an English language and writing class, and World Views & Values, a philosophy course, students are provided with a comprehensive course of study and a well-rounded skill set.

Flexible Class Schedules

Marist’s Professional Studies Bachelor’s degree presents students with the option to take classes in-person on our Poughkeepsie, NY campus, 100% online, or a hybrid of both. This flexibility allows adult and non-traditional students to pursue their bachelor’s degree while continuing to work a full-time job. Part-time students are expected to take 6-9 credits, or 2-3 classes, per semester. Depending on how many transfer credits a student starts Marist’s Professional Studies program with, a bachelor’s degree may be completed within 3 years. Students can apply transfer credits from various experiences, including prior community college courses, life work credits, and portfolio review. Marist works to make completing a bachelor’s degree as accessible as possible while still providing the highest quality education.
