What do you like best about Marist: The campus is gorgeous, the professors are great. Marist offers you the best seasonal experience, coming from Hawaii I was deprived of fall, winter, and spring.
What was your favorite class: Intermediate Japanese is my favorite class because the professor teaches with such enthusiasm that the class, in return, expresses the same energetic joy. Students here actually look forward to attending class rather than trying to avoid it.
My Communication Principles professor is also a character. He has great stories that actually relate to the topics we discuss in class. The class is easy to follow, and I am learning a lot. I can link what I learn in class to situations outside the classroom and apply it there.
Best part of living on campus: Most of the initial friends you make it college come from your dorm. It's a great way to break into the school year because everyone is new, so everyone is on the same page-willing to make friends. Living on campus, you also have the convenience of going back to your dorm in between classes for a brief nap after your 8AM class, finishing homework, or simply relaxing.
Marist on the weekends: Your weekends are what you make of it. If you want to have fun, you CAN have fun. There are clubs to go to, students (like me) who are not interested in the clubbing scene always have the option of hanging out with their friends in dorm rooms, attending school events, and going to mall trips or Broadway trips. There are SO MANY opportunities to find something fun.
