How did you choose Marist: When I was searching for colleges, I knew that size and location were top priority. I had lived in New York City all my life and wanted to spend the best four years of my life somewhere with a little less concrete and a lot more heart. Choosing Marist was an easy once I set foot on the campus. I remember standing in the front of the library and thinking to myself just how beautiful it was here. The small size of the school meant smaller class sizes and that appealed to me (having come from a prestigious, albeit overcrowded school in Brooklyn).

What you like best about Marist: What I like best about Marist is the overall friendly nature of the people here. The school has what I like to refer to as "hug culture". It is hard to walk from one building to another without seeing someone who you know and the customary greeting is a hug. I rarely go a day here without smiling. It truly is something amazing.

What was your favorite class: History of Costume with Professor Kramer was one of the most interesting classes I've had the opportunity of taking. I signed up for it to fulfill a history requirement not really knowing what to expect. The class was a refreshing change from anatomy lab and organic chemistry. I was the lone science major in a classroom full of stylish fashion majors and I absolutely loved the experience!

Where did you intern: In my junior year, I had an awesome internship at Vassar Brothers Hospital here in Poughkeepsie. I had the opportunity to shadow different physicians and to see open-heart surgery! I also interned back home at Long Island college Hospital in both labor and Delivery Ward and the Genetics Ward. My internship experience has served to deepen my interest in the medical field and subsequently I am applying to graduate programs in the life sciences.

Best part of living on campus: I had the opportunity to live both on and off campus. Freshman year I lived in a triple in Champagnat Hall on the science floor and loved every minute of it. I could wake up and go to the cafeteria in my pajamas! Second semester I moved to Sheahan Hall and really appreciated the quiet atmosphere that the dorm provided. I moved off campus during my sophomore and junior year. I loved the freedom that it provided me and having my own room was a plus as well!
