Luis Santiago, Director of Undergraduate Admission at Marist College, is entering his thirteenth year working in the admission profession. Born and raised in the South Bronx, Luis is a graduate of St. Raymond's High School. He entered Marist through our Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) and served as the admission program liaison for eight years.
Previously, Luis held the position of Director of On-Campus Visits and Events. In this role he was responsible for managing all campus visit programs from general information sessions to Opening Day to Open House for Accepted Students. As Director of Undergraduate Admission, Luis is responsible for a staff of seven full-time and four part-time employees. He oversees freshman and transfer application review, recruitment, and marketing. In his time at Marist he has seen applications double and selectivity increase to an all-time high of 31 percent acceptance rate.
Luis also served a three-year term as College Delegate for the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling and was recently elected to serve on the Walkway over the Hudson Board of Directors.
