Home Town: East Greenwich, Rhode Island
Major/Minor: Sports Communications/ History
How did you choose Marist: Marist had everything that I was looking for in a college. I knew going into college that I wanted to get involved a radio and television station, which Marist has both of. I am also very interested in sports and Marist had all the sports that I would want to report on for the Radio and Television Station. Even though Sports Communications couldn't be more perfect for me, I also loved that Marist has a wide range of majors that I could choose from, just in case I change my mind.
What do you like best about Marist: What I like best about Marist is all of the resources that are offered to make my transition into college life easier. I not only have a mentor that I can talk too about day to day things but I also have an advisor which is there to help me for the academic side of things. The Marist library also makes studying here much easier. The Writing Center in the library not only helps edit your paper but also teaches you how to write a stronger paper.
What is your favorite class: My favorite class right now is public presentation. I have always had a fear of speaking in front of people. This class however is helping me get over this fear and become a better speaker so that I will be able to be more successful in my communications major.
Best part of living on campus: The best part of living on campus is that you feel like your in your own little town. The campus is big enough so that you don't know every single person, but it is small enough where you don't have a half an hour walk to your early morning class.
