Why did you choose to pursue your degree at Marist:
I was always fond of Marist so when I saw they offered the Master of Arts in Educational Psychology program I thought it was a perfect opportunity to further my education at a wonderful school while still being able to have a full time job.
Tell us about a project or course that was particularly meaningful to your professional development:
Because I am certified at the secondary level, I thoroughly enjoyed my middle school extension course with our instructor Ms. Michelle Simonetty. She currently teaches at the middle school level, and created an atmosphere that was welcoming, inspiring, and productive at helping me learn how to educate middle school students. Her course work was highly authentic, and lessons provided me with skills that I will one day take into my own classroom.
How has a degree from Marist and your course work enhanced your career:
I believe the education I received at Marist has not only provided me with a better understanding of students, human development, and effective teaching methods, but it also challenged my thinking on multicultural education and the changing dynamics of our world.
What advice would you give to a student considering pursuing their master’s degree at Marist:
I would highly recommend a student consider getting their Masters at Marist. If the program they are looking into has the hybrid option it’s a great opportunity to further their education at an excellent school, that offers a flexible schedule via the online courses, without putting you in enormous debt.
