Tuition and Student Financial Services

You Can Afford Graduate School. We Can Help!

A graduate education is an investment that requires patience, planning—and perhaps some sacrifice. When you compare tuition, faculty expertise, student outcomes, and program accessibility across other private schools, you'll be pleasantly surprised by how the Marist Mental Health Counseling program rises above the competition. In addition to our more favorable tuition, we also offer merit and alumni scholarships and academic partnerships with select employers and organizations to further reduce tuition costs. Our Student Financial Services Office can also help you with federal loans and payment plans.

Tuition

The Mental Health Counseling program is accessible and affordable for students from around the world. Tuition and fees for the program are computed on a per credit basis.

Cost per credit hour $800
Cost per course $2,400
Total credits 60
Total cost $48,000

Costs presented above are based on the 2017-2018 tuition and fee schedule.  Tuition and fees are subject to change.

Graduate Assistantship Opportunities

Graduate Assistantships are awarded to a select number of full-time students who have demonstrated a strong academic record. A graduate assistantship is an award valued at up to $4,500 per year in the form of a tuition waiver and stipend. Graduate assistants work 10 hours per week with faculty in the School of Social & Behavioral Sciences and perform duties such as assisting with research projects, teaching, coordination of program activities, and related work. Such experience is a particular advantage for students who intend to pursue admission to doctoral programs in counseling or clinical psychology. In recent years, assistants have co-presented research with faculty at various psychology conferences. Additional funds are available to support student research and presentations. The application for a graduate assistantship should accompany the program application.
