Why did you choose Marist College?
When I was young I had always dreamed of attending college in the United States. My counselor recommended me several colleges. I did some research on all the colleges that were presented to me and I immediately choose Marist because of its size and it was one flight away from home. Finally, I went to visit Marist with one of my closest friend and I immediately felt like Marist is the perfect college for me.
What was your favorite class? Why?
College writing was the class I had the most fun in; everyone was an international student in that class so I got to learn not only about essay writing but also different cultures around the world.
What is the best part of living on campus?
It is convenient to walk to classes and you get to make a lot of friends. I made lots of friends by living on campus, we get to do lots of fun activities whenever we want.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
I row for the Marist Men’s Crew and I love the Hudson River so my favorite place at Marist is the boathouse. It helps me relieve all my stresses from school work.
How do you connect with friends and family at home while at Marist?
Skype! Skype is the best way to communicate with friends and family at home.
What kind(s) of extracurricular activities are you involved in?
I am on the Marist Men’s Crew team. Besides rowing I am involved in lots of other activities such as Campus ministry, math club, ski club, emerging leaders and intramurals sports.
Tell us about a “cultural” moment you had at Marist (culture shock, funny story, etc.).
Slang words and the dances confuse me all the time. You'll have to keep up with all the new slang words that are out and try to go with flow when out clubbing.
What do you do for fun outside of Marist?
I go to the City very often and it’s just one train ride away. There's tons of stuff to do in New York City!
