"I loved it and instantly knew this was the school for me."
While in high school in New York City, Louis Ortiz participated in a group visit to Marist that prompted his interest in the college. " I loved it and instantly knew this was the school for me." Lou is now a junior who is very active on campus - he is the vice-president of the Marist College Television Station (MCTV), the assistant editor of the school newspaper, The Circle, and the public relations director for the Student Government Association (SGA).
In the classroom, Lou is a public relations and journalism major with minors in Spanish and psychology. Next year after graduation, he plans to attend graduate school in New York City and work at a television or radio station.
Lou says that the most interesting things he has done as a Marist student include his many extra-curricular activities, like volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. "They gave me great experiences that I will carry with me for the rest of my life."
