The Hudson Valley Scholars Program has been making a Marist education affordable for many deserving students for more than a decade. Financial support from the Hudson Valley business community is fundamental to the success of many young people studying at Marist. Funds provided by the many businesses that support this exceptional program are used to award scholarships to admirable students from the area.
All student scholars are graduates from high schools in the Hudson Valley. Many will remain in the valley after they graduate from Marist and become responsible members of their communities. Last year alone, gifts to the Hudson Valley Scholars Program from the local business community benefited 148 of these students.
The success of these bright Marist students depends heavily on the investment we make today in these future leaders. Many businesses feel that supporting this program is their way of giving back to their community. After all, an investment in a student's future is one in the community as well.
The program's success over the years is due in part to the hard work and loyalty of its volunteer committee. Thanks to a driven volunteer committee with a strong belief in the mission of the Hudson Valley Scholars Program, Marist has been able to award scholarships to hundreds of local students every year. The 2008 volunteer committee is the largest since its inception and Marist is very thankful for the work of these business professionals.
