Master of Public Administration Receptions

The School of Management, Office of Graduate and Adult Enrollment, and the Alumni Office hosted a reception for graduates and current students of the Master of Public Administration program on April 14, 2010 at The Terrace Club in New York City. Dean of the School of Management Elmore Alexander presented the "New York Metro Outstanding Alumni" award to Edmund Hartnett '04MPA and Kevin McBride '04MPA in honor of the dedication to public service. Since Kevin could not attend his commencement ceremony in 2004, he was surprised by a special presentation by Dean Alexander that included a cap and gown.

Albany, New York
On June 2, 2009, the School of Management, Graduate and Adult Enrollment, and the Alumni Office hosted a reception for graduates of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. More than 50 alumni, faculty, and staff gathered at The Desmond in Albany, New York.
During the reception, the first annual Marist College School of Management Outstanding Alumna Award was presented to Major Robin Benziger '02MPA for her dedication to public service and overall career accomplishments. Major Benziger is a 25-year veteran of the New York State Police. Originally from western New York, she has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Buffalo State College and graduated from the FBI National Academy. She has held a number of leadership roles, including serving as Zone Commander and Assistant Detail Commander of former Governor George Pataki's personal security detail. In May of 2008, Major Benziger was the first woman appointed as the Director of Training for the New York State Police Academy.
