Parents Council Membership Application Form
The Marist College Parents Council is an advisory council comprised of current parents of enrolled students. The Council consists of four distinct committees that focus attention on topics essential to Marist's mission to provide students with a premier undergraduate experience in higher education. Members play a major role in affording students with new and expanded educational opportunities while furthering the mission of the College, as defined by its character, tradition, and quality of education.
Council meetings take place twice a year; members are expected to attend all meetings and provide a meaningful gift to the College.
Members work directly with the Office of College Advancement staff in the area of Annual Giving. They assist in organizing volunteers and strategies for obtaining financial resources for the College; make phone calls requesting gifts to the Marist Fund as well as thank you phone calls to parent donors.
Members work with the Admissions staff to provide insight and resources for recruiting new students. This may include attending college fairs in your area and hosting welcome receptions for new students.
Career Services Committee
Members work with the Career Services staff to provide opportunities and resources for securing internships and employment for current students and alumni.
Student Affairs Committee
Members work with Student Affairs to promote Family Weekend and other campus events as they relate to the Parents Council.
