Application Process for Elective Credit Internships
(If an internship is required by your academic program you must speak to the faculty coordinator in your department.)
- Make an appointment with Desmond Murray, Assistant Director of Field Experience
- Register with Career Services by completing the Job Placement Release Form.
- Complete your profile on NACElink and bring a copy of it to your appointment.
- Begin working on your resume
- Bring your resume to your appointment
- Bring in the Field Experience Application Supplementary Form
to your appointment.
- Once your resume has been critiqued and finalized you must upload it onto NACElink
- Once your resume has been uploaded, it will be available to employers
- Wait for responses from employers wishing to schedule interviews
- Participate in one or more internship interviews
- After accepting an internship offer, contact the CCS assistant to register for academic elective credit. (To register for summer internships, the credits must be paid for before meeting with the assistant.)
- Obtain Eligibility Form from Career Services, add/drop form from the Registrar's Office or Career Services, and a Learning Contract from Career Services
- Obtain internship faculty coordinator signature on Eligibility Form and advisor signature on add/drop form
- Return forms to the Registrar's Office
- Learning contract is to be filled out by student and employer and returned to Center for Career Services
- Begin internship.
The Field Experience Program annually recognizes one graduating senior by presenting the Marist College Intern Student of the Year Award to a Marist intern. The Field Experience Program also annually recognizes one employer by presenting the Marist College Intern Employer of the Year Award
