School of Computer Science and Math

Field Experience is not a requirement
Academic Requirement:
Students are required to submit a final paper 7-10 pages in length at the end of their Field Experience.
School of Communication & the Arts
(Includes majors in Art, Communication Arts, Fashion Design & Merchandising)
Course Requirements:
It is expected that the student has successfully completed major course work prior to Field Experience.
Fashion Design and Merchandising require a 2.5 GPA.
Communication requires 2.5 GPA.
Number of Field Experience credits that can be applied toward graduation:
A maximum of 14 credits for Communications; 15 credits for Fashion Design & Merchandising
Course Requirements:
It is preferred that the student has successfully completed major course work prior to Field Experience.
Number of Field Experience credits that can be applied toward graduation:
A maximum of 14 credits for Communications; 15 credits for Fashion Design & Merchandising
Division Requirement:
Field Experience is not a requirement except for the Sports Communication concentration. They are required to do 3 credits.
Academic Requirement:
Weekly journals and a final term project are required. Communication majors are also required to attend group meetings. Students need to earn a passing grade in CRDV 100N Employment Practicum a 1 credit career course. Fashion Design & Merchandising majors must complete weekly journals, a midterm written report and make a final oral presentation to a fashion class.
School of Social & Behavioral Science
(Includes majors in criminal Justice, Psychology, Social Work, and the Teacher Education Certificate Program)
These majors require Field Experience. Check with the Division for further information and requirements.
School of Liberal Arts
(Includes majors in American Studies, English, History, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and the Paralegal Certificate)
Course Requirements:
Paralegal students must complete PRLG 101 (PRLG 210 is also recommended). Public History majors must complete 2 American History courses and HIST 305 (Research Methods). Political Science majors must have junior status and permission of the Internship Faculty Coordinator.
Number of Field Experience credits that can be applied toward graduation:
A maximum of 6 credits for Paralegal; 15 credits for Public History; and 18 credits for Political Science.
Division Requirement: Field Experience is a requirement for History Majors with a Public History concentration.
Academic Requirement: Established by the Internship Faculty Coordinator for each experience.
School of Management
(Includes majors in Accounting, Business, Economics, Human Resources, International Business and Marketing)
Course Requirements: Students must have completed 12 credits in courses related to work site requirements.
Number of Field Experience credits that can be applied toward graduation: A maximum of 12 credits for Business and Economics; 9 credits for Accounting.
Division Requirement: Field Experience is not a requirement. A student must maintain a 2.50 GPA.
Academic Requirement: Students must maintain a daily log. Three typewritten papers, each approximately 6-12 pages in length are also required.
School of Science
(Includes majors in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Medical Technology)
Number of Field Experience credits that can be applied toward graduation: A maximum of 12 credits; Environmental Science majors must complete a minimum of 6 credits.
Division Requirements: Field Experience is a requirement for all Environmental Science majors not electing the senior research option.
Academic Requirement: Students are expected to submit a paper 10-15 pages in length detailing their field experiences.
