Integrative Studies Program Goals

  1. Give students the breadth of knowledge and the understanding of a variety of academic disciplines through an integrative curriculum that will allow them to be lifelong learners.
  2. Help students to meet the complexity of contemporary work and community environments by requiring the completion of concentrations in at least two disciplines.
  3. Teach adult students to communicate effectively, think critically, analyze creatively and view issues from several different perspectives.
  4. Enable students to build upon the rich experiences they bring to the classroom, thereby integrating life, work and academic experiences.
  5. Provide students with the opportunity to bridge theory and application through an individually designed research project.
  6. Focus on students' individual learning styles and learning objectives (personal, academic, professional, social and/or civic).
