Integrative Studies Program Goals
-
Give students the breadth of knowledge and the understanding of a
variety of academic disciplines through an integrative curriculum
that will allow them to be lifelong learners.
-
Help students to meet the complexity of contemporary work and
community environments by requiring the completion of concentrations
in at least two disciplines.
-
Teach adult students to communicate effectively, think critically,
analyze creatively and view issues from several different
perspectives.
-
Enable students to build upon the rich experiences they bring to the
classroom, thereby integrating life, work and academic experiences.
-
Provide students with the opportunity to bridge theory and
application through an individually designed research project.
-
Focus on students' individual learning styles and learning objectives
(personal, academic, professional, social and/or civic).
