A new approach to degree completion, the B.A. Psychology Degree Completion Program has been very successful in accelerating graduation for many working adults entering the human services field.
This two year, cohort-based program is designed for students with two years of prior undergraduate study who are looking for a way to complete their degree in an accelerated format but still be able to hold onto their job and way of life.

Formatted especially for adult students in the Hudson River Valley, this two day a week program is tailored to the needs of working and stay-at-home adults. The courses are specifically scheduled to allow maximum flexibility. Classes start at 9 am and end by 4 pm, giving student an opportunity to handle their other responsibilities, family or professional.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, job opportunities in the social and human services field are expected to be "excellent through 2012," and with a quality Marist education, taking advantage of this "rapidly growing" field will be at your fingertips. Careers in mental health, social work, counseling, gerontology, child welfare, corrections, or case management are common for those with a background in Psychology.

To enter, one must have 60 credits of undergraduate study and have taken an Introduction to Psychology course. The cohort format allows for the fulfillment of core and elective requirements; Summer and Winter terms are not scheduled so that students have the ability to complete prerequisites or catch up on credits, to ensure graduation at the time of program completion.
You do not have to give up your job or family to attend Marist full-time. Classes for this program will be 2 days per week between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm. Class days are set at the beginning of the program and allow students to plan around them throughout the program. The format is especially designed for working parents or those with shift work or job scheduling flexibility. All students in this program are considered full-time and financial aid is available for those eligible.
Students are taught as a cohort, or group that moves together through the program during the entire two years. This model helps to foster a support network and lasting relationships that all students can build on. It also allows students to focus on their education and take advantage of a set curriculum.

During the final term of the program, students will be required to complete 6 to 12 credits of internship experience. Marist will aid students in the search for internship placement opportunities.
