| Bio: | John James Fahey teaches public relations. He joined the Marist faculty in 1990 after nearly 30 years with IBM. He held several positions with IBM, includingserving as Manager of Communications and Community Relations at IBM's Poughkeepsie plant. Previous to that he was Manager of Editorial Services for the corporation's Armonk headquarters, where he was responsible for worldwide communication programs. Prior to that he was Community Relations and Communication Manager at IBM's East Fishkill plant. Throughout his career he has handled press relations, managed writers, graphic designers and photographers and been responsible for donations averaging $1 million each year. A longtime Dutchess County resident, he has served on many community boards. Most recently he was chairman of the New York State Regional Economic Development Council and Co-Chairman of the Corporate Division of the Dutchess County Arts Fund. A volunteer for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, he has previously served as president of the Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce and as a director and vice president of the Dutchess County United Way, a director of the New York State Heart Association and director of the East Fishkill Lions Club. |
