Bio: Since the fall of 2001, I have been on the communication faculty in the School of Communication and the Arts at Marist College. Aside from teaching the introductory communication course--Communication Principles--and Interpersonal Communication, I also teach Gender, Culture and Communication, a course dual-listed with the Women's Studies program. I also created a special topics course in Fall 2003 titled Social & Psychological Perspectives of Computer Mediated Communication, and my most recent endeavor is the creation of and teaching the online graduate course in Interpersonal Communication.

In-between my being an undergrad at Marist and returning as a faculty member, I taught a myriad of courses as a teaching assistant at Rutgers University (Ph.D.--2001) and as an adjunct professor at William Paterson University in New Jersey. Research Interests: My dissertation explored performance aspects of gender in an online role-playing environment. The outcome included a typology of the construction of gender online via content analysis, as well as a possible model for exploring the construction of gender in general.

I am currently investigating IM use of college students and faculty with a former Marist colleague, as well as doing some exploratory research on my own regarding gender representations in family-based comic strips. I am also looking on online support and preceptions of fertility.
