As a seasoned public relations/marketing communication professional turned academic, Jennie brings more than 20 years of corporate, agency, non-profit and higher education industry experience into the classroom. She's passionate about experiential learning, particularly community-based client projects.
Jennie has developed and taught in-person, hybrid, and online undergraduate public relations, communication and social media classes, as well as graduate integrated marketing communication classes, at Marist. She's a faculty fellow with the college's Center for Civic Engagement and Leadership, conducts workshops for the college's Emerging Leaders Program, as well as teaches in the Honors Program. She previously served as faculty adviser to the college's award-winning chapter of PRSSA and worked with the students to found its student-run agency, North Road Communications. She currently serves as director of the Center for Excellence in Social Media Engagement. Prior to Marist, she taught at Mount Saint Mary College and The Culinary Institute of America.
In addition to her academic experience, Jennie has held various communication positions with industry-leading organizations such as The Kellogg Company and Fidelity Investments, as well as top global public relations agencies, Golin (formerly Golin/Harris), and MSL Group (formerly Manning, Selvage & Lee). Her background spans multiple industries (from food to finance and consumer to business-to-business), as well as various business and communication disciplines.
Jennie has a M.B.A. from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition, she graduated with honors from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree and dual major in public relations and international relations. She has participated in a global residential seminar in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as studied abroad in London, England.

I also have served as a guest lecturer at other colleges and universities, as well as am a speaker/presenter at communication trade associations, business groups, and non-profit organizations. Topics include social media, integrated marketing communication, communication technology's impact on the public relations industry, corporate and agency public relations, the business perspective of non-profit partnerships, media relations, managing events, culinary public relations, and keys to academic success.
