The New York Fashion Experience Program offers a full-time semester of undergraduate study and internship in the fashion capital of the world. The program is run by Marist College, a private four-year college located in Poughkeepsie, NY. Marist has successfully placed hundreds of students in New York City fashion companies.
NYFE is offered during Fall & Spring semesters only. We do NOT offer a Summer program at this time.
The ideal candidate is a junior or senior who understands the competitive nature of fashion today and who brings an independent-minded, mature approach to his or her academic life.
The program does not accept high school, post-graduates or graduate students.
The main focus of this experience is the internship. Selected undergraduates will receive personal attention in locating and securing an internship placement with a fashion company or organization. We deal directly with leading fashion companies, and strongly believe in follow-up; each student's progress is monitored throughout the internship via both telephone, in-person visits to the internship site, evaluations, and weekly journals. A formal evaluation is collected from the internship supervisor at the end of the term.
The New York Fashion Seminar course is specifically designed to encourage students to explore the wealth of cultural resources in New York and to broaden their horizons and look at familiar things in a different way.
