The New York Fashion Experience is a phenomenal program that I am extremely grateful to have participated in. When I began this program, I had never lived in a large city, or had taken a fashion related course in college. I knew, however, that I wanted to live in a place like that of New York City and pursue a fashion based career. NYFE helped me accomplish these two things. This program taught me a great deal about the inner workings of a fashion dress-making company and gave me the opportunity to adapt to a fast paced city. It has been so exciting to participate in a program that is so elite, and has so much to teach/offer while being so fun at the same time.

I wish this program would never end! From working with the Y? design team to exploring different areas of New York City and working backstage at Fashion Week 2008, the NYFE has given me countless experiences I could have never gained anywhere else. Over the past few months, I have learned more about the fashion industry than I ever thought. I have had the time of my life meeting amazing people, making great contacts, and establishing lifelong friendships. I can't thank the Marist Fashion Program enough for providing me with this remarkable opportunity.

I would definitely say that the Seminar class included in the NYFE program is the most enjoyable class I have ever taken. While our meetings were considered a class, they were anything but your typical classroom setting. Gathering in a showroom in the Garment District, we studied our assigned neighborhoods, the history of fashion, marketing tactics, trends, and trend forecasting. The class taught me to become more aware of my surroundings. Studying Brooklyn its ebb and flow, population, trends, hotspots, etc. has given me the ability to be more observant in other locations and with daily tasks. Exploring this area has been a blast, and given me the chance to see a part of this wonderful city that I likely would have never ventured.

Participating in the NYFE program has been one of the best experiences of my life! I have learned so much from working at TSS/AMC in the Misses TJX sweater division and my eyes have been opened to a completely different side of the retail industry. I love fashion and there is no better place to be than in New York City to get the full experience of the industry. Living in the city has been amazing and at first it was difficult to adjust, but after I did, I realized that if I can make it here I can anywhere. This internship experience is one that I will never forget.

When I decided to apply to the NYFE at Marist College there were two things that I wanted to accomplish. First, I knew that my perfect picture of NYC, the city that I loved and didn't even know, had to have a flaw. I knew that if this was the city that I was going to pursue a career in I needed to experience it for what it really is and not what I dreamed it would be. Second, I needed to make sure that my passion and obsession for fashion was something I could realistically pursue. Not only did my experience in NYC confirm my love for the city but what I fell in love with were things that I discovered after I was there. My internship at W Magazine was more that I could hope for. Between working at the promotional events or answering W Personal Shopper questions I was able to gain valuable experience in the industry as well as develop lasting relationships. The NYFE was an amazing opportunity that I am so grateful for being able to experience.

I had an excellent experience during the NYFE Program and the time of my life living in New York for the semester. Interning at DETAILS magazine was the best experience. I learned a lot and had a great time doing it. I would definitely do it again if I had the chance.

The NYFE program was a wonderful learning experience for me. I received hands on training by interning in the Public Relations department of ESCADA. I also learned a lot about different trends in NYC especially my assigned area Brooklyn and one of my most memorable experiences was volunteering for Fashion Week's Spring 2006 Collection. This experience made me realize how significant the Fashion industry really is to me. I recommend this program to any one who wants to pursue their career in the Fashion Industry. It is an excellent memorable experience that you will never forget.

By living in the heart of the fashion industry and working in wholesale at Versace, I learned a lot about high fashion and adapted to the fast-paced city. The NYFE program was such a phenomenal experience! By allowing students to experience working for a fashion company and living in the city, students can decide if New York is a good fit for them and if they really do want to pursue fashion without having to wait until after graduating to come to any realizations. In just one semester, I experienced and learned so much about business and fashion while learning a lot about myself. I am so glad to have had this opportunity and recommend this program to anyone who truly wants to pursue fashion.

My internship with Chanel was a dream come true, and honestly everything I wanted it to be. Words wouldn't really do the experience justice. Nothing can explain last semester's fast-paced adventurous experience. Every corner turned brings something new and exciting. The New York Fashion Experience goes over and beyond the expectations of its name. From subway hopping to exploring neighborhoods for class you truly learn something new everyday.

My experience at Kellwood along with living in New York City has definitely given me the boost I needed to follow my dream in fashion. From this program I have gained many strengths, friendships and contacts. Living in the city provided me with the edge I need to be in the fashion world, because it surrounded me on a daily basis.

Doing a PR report, running clothes to showrooms, participating in events or simply creating an excel sheet for a project is nothing close to being in a classroom and hearing about it. I am grateful for the knowledge I have gained attending the "New York Fashion Experience" course and now I feel as though I can relate better in my field. I am proud of myself for participating in this program and instead of feeling intimidated by the competition; I feel like a competitor.

This experience in New York City is only something that I could have experience through this program. I have learned so much by living in New York and at my internship that I could have not learned in any class at Youngstown State. I don.t know how I would expect to land a job in New York City or another big city without doing this internship. There were so many on-site things I learned working at TSS/AMC that we never went over in any of my classes. I think a lot of it too was just working in a real world work setting.
