Interactive Media/Game Studies

The Interactive Media/Game Studies [IM/GS] Concentration emphasizes the analysis, critique, design and production of observer-dependent media. Building on the School of Communication and Arts' array of expertise in theory and production, this concentration prepares students to create content with the same professional-grade tools that are shaping commerce and culture in the 21st century.

Communication Foundation Courses are required of ALL Communication majors during the first and second year at Marist, and provide a strong foundation for the IM/GS concentration. The descriptions of each of these courses can be found in the Marist College Catalog and in the appendix to this document. Read the course descriptions carefully. They provide insight into what lies ahead.

All IM/GS students take the following courses:

COM 155 Media Literacy

COM 230 Digital Video for Interactive Applications

COM 255 Communicating on the Internet

COM 355 Interactive Media I
