First Annual National Game Day a Hit!
Being only its first year running, National Game Day was a hit! The event that took place Saturday, November 7th, in Lowell Thomas was electric. Students of all grades were able to compete with and against their peers in Hearthstone, a fairly new computer animated game. Prior to gaming, students were welcomed to pizza and beverages, providing a very amusing setting. This was the perfect opportunity to let the undergraduates socialize with one another before expressing their competitive edge. “Recruiting more students to sign up was our biggest issue this year,” Karen Schrier stated. After researching common hobbies within our student body, expectations were high. Pending new software updates, Professor Schrier expects attendance to potentially double within the next couple of years. Not such a bad outcome for one of the many newer programs Marist College has to offer.
