New York is the media capital of the world, offering students a unique opportunity to network with media leaders. Students will be able to attend numerous lectures, trade shows, seminars, screenings and other special events that feature famous faces and leaders in media industry.
Recently, NYMEP students volunteered to take part in "New York Fashion Week," mingling with models, designers and celebrities as the fashion industry previews what's next. Students have attended lectures and book signings by leading authors. The Greenwich-village based non-profit Center for Communication offers a continuous series of lectures, seminars and workshops led by noted figures from journalism, public relations, film, television, radio and new media. In the Fall, students may attend the widely acclaimed advertising career conference sponsored annually by the Advertising Women of New York. In the Spring, take part in the Tribeca Film Festival, which has quickly gained popularity with New York's literati. Students will also be eligible to attend numerous lectures sponsored by the 92nd St. Y, at reduced cost or no cost.
