Bio: Professor McGrail teaches a variety of courses in the Mathematics department. She is coordinator for the Mathematical Contest in Modeling sponsored by the Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications (COMAP), which is held each February.

Interests: Professor McGrail's interests lie in a branch of mathematical logic called Model Theory. She has studied the theory of differential fields with finitely many commuting derivations. She is currently working on a joint project with Professors Doty and Krog on cellular automata.
