Bryant Gumbel is an Emmy Award-winning broadcaster and journalist, who began his 40-year career as a sportscaster at Los Angeles’s KNBC before going on to become a household name as co-host of the Today Show for 15 years. His current show, Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, has won 21 Sports Emmys since it debuted on HBO in 1995. It is celebrated for its in-depth features on professional and amateur athletes.
In conversation with Gumbel will be Associate Professor Keith Strudler, director of the Center for Sports Communication. Founded in October of 2011, the center promotes the study and practice of sports communication by, among other means, bringing sports media professionals together with Marist students. |
