The Poughkeepsie Journal will host a forum on drinking water safety. The Journal will bring together officials and experts to discuss how drinking water is regulated and safeguarded.
Anita Thompkins, chief of the Environmental Protection Agency’s local drinking water and municipal infrastructure branch.
Russell Urban-Mead, a senior hydrogeologist at the Chazen Companies who is familiar with geologic formations and water supplies throughout the Hudson Valley.
Dr. Kari Reiber, acting commissioner for the Dutchess County Department of Health, and Tanya Clark, supervising public health engineer for the Dutchess County Department of Health’s Environmental Health Services Division, will also be on hand. The county health department oversees nearly 700 regulated local drinking-water supplies.
