The World Affairs Council of the Mid-Hudson Valley presents the Fall 2015 Programs with a talk from Faith Okpotor, Jennings Randolph Peace Scholar from the U.S. Institute of Peace.

Ms. Okpotor's talk is titled "Electing Violence: Explaining Post-Election Violence in Africa."

Her talk will be presented in the Hancock Center, Room 2023 at 7:00 p.m.

Marist College First-Year Studies Program, the School of Liberal Arts, the Department of History, and Medieval and Renaissance Studies present Mark Spitzer, associate professor, University of Central Arkansas, and editor-in-chief, "Toad Suck Review."

Mark Spitzer will give a talk entitled "From Wild People to Wilderness: Researching Monsters in Our Midst," on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. in LT 019 (Lowell Thomas screening room).

Professor Spitzer will speak of his experience researching the iconography of the medieval wild man in European art history and literature, and how this study informs his current environmental research and fish writing. He has authored 22 books in a variety of genres (essays, poetry, translations, and novels).
