Diwali - The Festival of Lights

Marist College is hosting events surrounding the Indian culture's annual celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, the week of November 9-13. The weeklong celebration includes an opening reception Monday (11/9) from 5-7pm in Lowell Thomas Lower Lobby, Diwali exhibit and demonstrations Tuesday-Thursday (11/10-11/12) and a closing reception on Friday (11/13) in the Student Center in the Cabaret.

The Marist Center for Multicultural Affairs, School of Communication and the Arts, Academic Technology, School of Computer Science and Math, School of Liberal Arts, fashion design senior students, and international graduate students from India have all come together to sponsor the week of events.

REMEDY: About a Decade of Painting

Art Gallery
The Department of Art and Digital Media will present its next exhibition at a reception in the Marist College Art Gallery on Thursday, November 12 from 5 – 7 p.m. The exhibition will show case the work of figurative painter Paul Sattler.

Sattler’s work is in the collections of the Albany Institute of History and Art, Arkansas Art Center, Little Rock, the Tang Museum, Saratoga Springs, New York, among others. He has had solo exhibitions at Alpha Gallery in Boston, Gerald Peters Gallery in New York, and many other one-person and group exhibitions around the country, including Prince Street Gallery and the National Academy of Art and Design where he was awarded the Wallace Truman Prize. He is currently director of the Schick Gallery and associate professor at Skidmore College.

The exhibition will be on display November 12 - December 17.
