Third Annual Campus Electronics and Battery Recycling Day

Dyson Green
The Marist College Campus Sustainability Advisory Committee (CSAC) with support from Students Encouraging Environmental Dedication (SEED) and the Housing and Residential Life RA Sustainability Committee are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Campus Electronics and Battery Recycling Day for students, faculty and staff. The event is scheduled on Wednesday, April 29, 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. across from the Hancock Center (no items will be taken for collection after 2:00 p.m.). New this year is the recycling of batteries (see details noted below).

In 2014, a total of 4,842 pounds of electronic waste was collected. All items are recycled by Maven Technologies, Rochester, New York . Opened in 1998, Maven Technologies was the first certified electronics recycler in New York State and adheres strictly to the principles of the "Reuse and Recovery Hierarchy" of responsible materials processing while maintaining an international "Zero-Landfill Policy". Maven achieved certification to both the Responsible Recycling (R2) and the Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS) standards in 2011. Making the decision to recycle properly has a significant positive impact on your environment.

Perhaps you are looking to get rid of your outdated laptop or PC or other electronics? Maven's recycling process is completely secure and ensures the following:

• Guaranteed security
• Complete destruction of data and/or storage devices
