Dr. Valerie Sperling, "Sex, Politics, and Putin: Masculinity and Russian Foreign Policy"

Description:

Dr. Valerie Sperling, Chair of Political Science at Clark University, will deliver a lecture entitled "Sex, Politics, and Putin: Masculinity and Russian Foreign Policy" on Monday, April 4 at 7 pm in Hancock 2023. Dr. Sperling is author of several books about Russian politics, the role of gender in politics, and globalization. The talk is of particular interest given the prominent role of Vladimir Putin in global politics and the way in which many of his gendered appeals are currently being adopted in the 2016 Presidential campaign. This lecture is funded by the School of Liberal Arts, the History Department, the Honors Program, and the First Year Seminar Program.
