2017 Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition

Student Center
The Mid-Hudson Regional Business plan competition has evolved each year with more representation from schools across the seven counties and passionate, sophisticated, and thoroughly researched presentations. In the first year of the competition, there were 16 teams from four schools. In 2016, 30 teams from 8 schools pitched their ideas to a panel of 18 judges, including angel investors, business consultants and community leaders. The level of enthusiasm generated by the students was enormous and the judges went above and beyond, offering free advice and consultation to the teams to help them further develop and launch their businesses.

Participating schools in 2016 included:
Marist College, SUNY New Paltz, Dutchess Community College, Westchester Community College, SUNY Ulster, SUNY Orange, US Military Academy at West Point, and Culinary Institute of America.

The New York State Business Competition is rapidly becoming known as one of the leading collegiate business plan competitions in the country. Since its inception in 2010, over 2,100 student teams from 75 schools across New York State have participated for over $2,300,000 in cash and in-kind prizes to launch their ventures.
