To commemorate the 50 years since 1968, the tumultuous year in American society which laid the groundwork for today’s political system and defined a generation, Marist is offering a four-part series of guest lecturers with unique perspectives on that year.
Speaker Bob Herbert is former Op-Ed columnist for The New York Times, syndicated columnist, former national correspondent for NBC, and writer and producer of film "Against All Odds: The Fight for A Black Middle Class."

Chris McCann, CEO of 1-800-Flowers, will be delivering this year’s spring Honors Leadership Lecture. McCann is an internationally-recognized executive, entrepreneur and innovator. He will be discussing leadership and the challenges and opportunities raised by rapidly-changing technology. McCann speaks widely on issues of leadership and innovation, and was featured on the CBS program, “Undercover Boss.” He is also a Marist alum and a longstanding member of the Marist Board of Trustees.
