The Marist College Lesbian Gay Straight Alliance is organized to promote an increased knowledge of and greater interest in diversity on campus along with alliances formed between Lesbian,Gay, Bisexual, transgendered/transsexual, and Straight students, and to provide a means of communications regarding sexuality. The Marist College Lesbian Gay Straight Alliance will serve students at Marist College and other interested persons in the Marist College Community. Religion, Politics and the Presidency Panel

Marist is delighted to present a panel of renowned scholars in what promises to be a provocative roundtable discussion or religion, politics and the Presidency 2012 as religion is going to play a huge role in this year's Presidential race.

Polls show that more voters are confused by President Obama's religious affiliation than several years ago, and Mitt Romney is the first Mormon ever to run for President. The growing presence of liberal evangelicals, the Catholic Bishops’ protest over the HHS regulations on contraception coverage, and the divergence between President Obama and many African American Christians over the issue of gay marriage (to name only a few things) promise to make religion a powerful force in this year`s election cycle.
