MCCTA presents: "Red Noses"

This fall Marist Theatre/MCCTA will perform Peter Barnes's play "Red Noses," a comedy about the black death in the fourteenth century. The play depicts a priest traveling across medieval France with a band of fools that offer holy assistance to plague victims. It is directed by Jim Steinmeyer.

Admission Student Information Session and Tour

The Group Information Session is a multimedia presentation that will provide you with a thorough overview of the College, its major fields of study, campus activities, scholarship and financial aid information, and guidelines for admission.

The student-guided tour will give you a firsthand look at the library, cafeteria, student center, classrooms, residence halls, athletic facilities, and the newest addition to our campus, the Hancock Center. All tours begin in the Student Center.

Dr. Moshe Halbertal will deliver the 36th Annual William and Sadie Effron Lecture in Jewish Studies. He is the Gruss Professor at New York University School of Law and a professor of Jewish thought and philosophy at Hebrew University.

With at least fifty graduate programs in attendance, the Forum allows prospective applicants to gain a greater appreciation of different graduate program structures and application requirements. Dr. David Schuyler will discuss his most recent book, Sanctified Landscape: Writers, Artists, and the Hudson River Valley, 1820-1909, which explores the formative role the Hudson River played in settling the 19th-century national debate on the environment, culture, and aesthetics.

Rediscovering Higher Education's Role in the Earth Community

Marist College will host the Environmental Consortium of Colleges & Universities’ 9th Annual Conference. Explore with us how ecology can be the pedagogical core for the way we teach, learn, and apply our disciplines to meet higher education's obligation to our environmental future. Keynote by Mary Evelyn Tucker, Managing Trustee of the Thomas Berry Foundation and Co-Director, Forum on Religion and Ecology at Yale University, as well as plenaries, lunch social, and multi- and inter-disciplinary poster session featuring faculty and student scholarly and creative work on environmental topics in the region. The Consortium will also present the first Thomas Berry Great Work Award, recognizing a faculty member or members whose work has advanced higher education's unique and central role in the environmental future of our region, and the planet, as articulated in Father Berry's book “The Great Work: Our Way into the Future.” Berry saw a special role for higher education, which he believed is the only of society’s institutions that offers the multiple disciplines, the critical capacity, and the duty to community necessary to change humanity's destructive environmental course.
