Marist is one of only six colleges or universities in the country affiliated with a presidential library, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library in neighboring Hyde Park. Marist serves as the host site for the FDR Digital Archives www.fdrlibrary.marist.edu

On November 15, Marist students volunteered at and participated in a conference on FDR's "100 Days," held at Columbia University. At the conference, nationally recognized historians and former government leaders compared the crisis faced by FDR with that to be faced by President-elect Barack Obama come January 20.

On November 18, the same subject was addressed on CNN by the conference's coordinator, Dr. David Woolner, associate professor of history at Marist and director of the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute in Hyde Park.
