Skills Dispatchers' should have very good interpersonal and customer service skills. Dispatchers will take service requests over the phone and enter them into a database. They will communicate with the maintenance staff in person and over the radio to insure that they are aware of any service requests outstanding and communicate with any others as necessary to assist in the expeditious completion of service requests. Various other clerical tasks will be performed as descibed in the dispatcher procedures or requested by the mechanical services supervisor. Dispatchers should have demonstrated computer literacy with proficiency in MP2 or similar computer programs. Experience with Window, Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access and effective writeing skills and interpersonal skills are also required. Individulas must be able to maintain a working relationship with all employees of the College as well as students requiring maintenance support. They must also promote positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students, vendors and employees.
