Employment Opportunity Available
An employment opportunity has become available for the position of Executive Assistant. This role is a part/full time (20-30 flexible hours per week) nine month contract with a three month probationary period. A successful completion of this contract may lead to a more permanent position with this company.
The role will be that of an executive assistant to the Managing Director of a growing business based primarily in Dutchess County, New York, however as the business expands the role will include travel throughout the United States with the MD. Day to day business such as answering correspondence, drafting letters, posting letters, managing bank accounts, calendar management, appointment scheduling, minute taking at meetings, coordinating meetings and organizing necessary refreshments etc for meetings, along with attending to the Managing Director’s personal errands; will be some of the primary functions of the executive assistant. Discretion when dealing with client and employer details will be vital for the success of this role, as sensitive materials will be entrusted to the successful candidate. During traveling assignments the assistant will be responsible for making travel and accommodation arrangements, booking rental cars and possibly driving the MD to meetings as needed.
This role will give the successful candidate an in-depth experience of running a small business. It is an opportunity to grow very quickly within an organization.
A successful candidate will need to ensure that their résumé outlines their experience and/or knowledge of the complete Microsoft Office suite (especially Word, Excel and Access), professional correspondence, data entry, file management and calendar management.
During the interview stages candidates must appear in a professional manner, exhibit appropriate etiquette, be a mature and professional communicator, and ensure that every aspect of their appearance and initial impression is as it would be once employment commenced. The ability to communicate with professionals of every nature will be vital to this role. To be considered for this role candidates must hold a full clean driver’s license and a passport (or have the means to obtain one) that allows them to travel outside of the United States should it be necessary in the future.
