Schedule for Incoming Traditional Undergraduate Transfer Students - Fall 2013

January 1, 2013 2012-2013 FAFSA
 

To be considered for financial aid from the College, the state or federal government, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed. The form may be completed online at www.fafsa.gov This form is also available in the high school guidance counselor's office or from the Office of Student Financial Services. Complete this form as soon as possible, beginning January 1st. The preferred deadline for completion is February 16th. The Marist College school code is 002765 and must be listed on the application.

  Financial aid award packages will be mailed on a rolling basis, provided we have received the FAFSA results from the Federal Government. The student will also be sent an email to access their financial aid award package online via myMarist.
March/April Student Financial Aid packages mailed on a rolling basis for Fall 2013 admits.
Deposit deadline is typically 2-3 weeks after acceptance.

Marist College verifies information submitted on the FAFSA for all deposited transfer students.

Please do not send any 2012 tax returns or W-2 statements to our office per federal regulations: 

The Department of Education has enhanced the FAFSA filing process to allow you and your parents to retrieve tax data from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The IRS Data Retrieval Tool is now available to update the FAFSA and will allow you and your parents to upload your filed 2012 federal tax return data directly to your FAFSA. If you have not already done so, we strongly encourage you to use this tool as our office will not be able to accept any Federal Tax Returns or W-2 statements.

June 1, 2013 Verification Of Student Files Begins
  The myMarist site, will enable you to verify requirements and missing information and complete all necessary documentation listed under "Financial Aid Requirements." (This process requires a student's Marist account).
June 1, 2013 Loan Process Begins
  Your loan will be processed for the amount indicated on your award letter. You will then be required to complete the MPN and entrance counseling online via your myMarist account under the "Financial Aid Requirements" section.
June 2013 Class of 2017 Freshman Orientation
Mid-July Fall 2013 Tuition Statements will be available electronically this week.
