Visit Information

General Medical Visits:  Are for the evaluation and treatment of ill or injured students, or for health counseling/education.  Common issues include respiratory infections,  conjunctivitis, strep throat/tonsillitis, urinary tract infections, asthma exacerbations, musculoskeletal strains and sprains, and skin conditions. 

Routine Women's Health:   visits include contraception counseling and prescription, safer sex counseling, STI screening and cytology (Pap smear) as indicated.  Appointments are available only Monday-Friday between 8:30-3:30.  Please specify Women's Health when making appointment so 30 minutes will be allowed.

Routine Men's Health:  visits include contraception and safer sex counseling and STI screening.  Appointments are available Monday-Thursday between 8:30-3:30. Please specify Men's Health when making the appointment.

Laboratory Testing:  Lab hours are Monday - Friday 9:30-10:30.  No appointment necessary.  Students must have laboratory requisition or prescription from a health care provider and insurance card for proper processing. 

Immunizations and Tuberculosis Testing:  Health Services is able to administer certain vaccines (a fee may apply), including MMR and tetanus booster.   We also offer tuberculosis testing (no fee).  Influenza vaccine is available at RiteAid Pharmacy (across from campus).  Cost for Marist Students with ID is $10.00  In addition, Health Services sponsors influenza vaccine clinics in the fall for a student fee of $10.00.

Transportation:  Students with medical emergencies are transported to a local hospital by ambulance.  Marist College does not employ drivers to transport students with non-emergent health needs.  

Class Attendance:  Marist Health Services often receives inquiries about class attendance issues.  The Health Center does not provide excuses.  Please see the "Excuse Policy".
