MIP alumnus, Damian Bednarz (Hansard Programme, London Fall 2003) has received a Fulbright award. A senior graduating this May, Damian will earn a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Global Studies. His Fulbright Grant will offer him the opportunity to study the political system in Warsaw, Poland. His project is entitled "Coalition Building in Post Communist Poland: The SLD and Beyond." Damian is fluent in Polish and German.
Established in 1946, the Fulbright Program aims to increase mutual understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries, through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills. Sponsored by the United States Department of State, Fulbright provides funds for students, scholars and professionals to undertake graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools. The U.S. Student Program awards approximately 1,000 grants annually, currently operates in over 140 countries worldwide.
