Ireland, Dublin – FIE: Dublin – Dublin Business School and Internship Program

Study business with Ireland’s Dublin Business School while building your professional profile through an internship experience.

Program Location

Students studying at the Dublin Business School (DBS) through FIE are based in central Dublin, a city with deep historical and cultural roots, and a dynamic culture and technology scene with companies like Google, Facebook, and Twitter situated in the city.    

Institution

FIE: Foundation for International Education is a London-based non-profit educational organization, providing customized partnership programs and individual student enrollment programs in London, Dublin, and Amman for undergraduate students. Students from over 50 US colleges and universities attend FIE study abroad programs.

Academics

  • All program participants are required to enroll in the intensive Irish Life and Cultures course (3 credits) that explores Irish history, language, culture, politics, and with special emphasis on the history of peace and conflict in Ireland.
  • Study tours and co-curricular activities are included in the program, and are designed to complement classroom sessions.
  • Electives are chosen from DBS’s “streams of interest” in the areas of Arts & Humanities, Business & Marketing, IT & Multimedia, Media & Journalism, and the Social Sciences.
  • Students are required to enroll in an internship that includes the International Internship Course (IIC) that supports and mentors students through this experience.  FIE Dublin Students

In total, students typically select two electives in addition to the Irish Life & Cultures course and a 6 credit internship (required).

Note to Psychology majors: Participants on this program may not receive PSYC 487 or PSYC 488 Fieldwork credits for the internship; an internship in the field of psychology may count for elective credits only.

Student Life & Co-curricular Content

Dublin MusicFIE supports students as they experience life and culture in Dublin and the surrounding areas.   An Optional Extra Curricular Calendar tracks upcoming events for students which at times are also subsidized to FIE students.  Rugby events, theatre outings, rafting trips, and concerts at various venues around the city are some of the activities students can expect to have access to.

At the Dublin Business school students have access to on-campus libraries, computer labs, and student recreation areas. 

HousingFIE Binary Hub

Students participating on the program reside in The Liberties neighborhood in the heart of Dublin.  FIE’s Binary Hub is a new student residency with gym facilities, large common rooms, wifi access, laundry facilities, and 24/7 support for students from the Student Life Assistants housed in the building.   

Program Cost

The program fee includes tuition (12-16 credits), accommodations, program orientation, internship placement and support, Wifi access at FIE facilities, course related co-curricular activities, and GeoBlue health insurance.

Admission Criteria

  • Minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA at the time of application
  • Sophomore standing or higher at the time of study abroad
  • Academic Advisor approval of program and coursework
