HTH coverage is included in the MIP fee. Participants are automatically subscribed for the coverage.
HTH sends a welcome to each participant, with instructions for registering and gaining full access to https://www.hthstudents.com/ for: ID card; recommended physicians, hospitals, pharmacies; drug translation guides; claim forms; benefits; health, safety, security info; etc.
The HTH ID card includes emergency phone numbers; participants should carry it in their wallet while abroad.
Why register for STEP? The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program is a free service provided by the U.S. Government to U.S. citizens who are traveling to, or living in a foreign country.
STEP allows you to enter information about your upcoming trip abroad so that the Department of State can better assist you in an emergency:
