Service and System Availability

All services and systems are up and running.

We have been notified by CASHNet that their services will be unavailable on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 1:00am to 6:00am while maintenance is performed.


In order to maintain the strength and reliability of the Data Center infrastructure, Information Technology will be performing maintenance affecting the mainframe services. Due to a failure of a redundant part in the disk storage system, this is required maintenance. In order to minimize the impact to the College community, we are planning the service outage for Friday November 28th from 8:00 am until 8:30pm while the college is on Thanksgiving break.

The following services will NOT be affected by the outage: iLearn, Marist Computer Network, Telephones and Voicemail, Virtual Computing Lab, and the Marist web site.

The following are few of the services that will be affected by the outage: Banner including my.marist.edu, all email services including FoxMail (Communication will only be available between other Lotus Notes users. Any emails to or from non-Lotus Notes accounts will be held and delivered after the shutdown is completed), DegreeWorks, Content Manager, z/OS Knowledge Center, and updating content on the Marist web site.

We have created a web site to provide timely information to the campus community, including a complete list of all services effected by the outage. That web site is http://www.marist.edu/it/mainframeoutage.

* Scheduled downtime window for major upgrades for the Lotus Notes service is 7pm to 9pm Friday. Notice of this will be posted when necessary.

  • The primary maintenance window for all production services is from 5 AM-7AM EST Monday thru Friday. Scheduled computer network outages will also take place during this time window. This time is not always utilized and will be listed above when scheduled.
  • During weekends and holidays, all services are available, but are running unattended.
