2012 New Student Information

Freshman move-in is on Saturday, August 25, 2012. The Marist College Information Technology department will be there to help students connect their computer to the Marist network. ResNet will be located in the PAR of the student center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to help all freshman students install Marist software and get connected to the network. To expedite the process on move-in day below are the network requirements.

 Windows

  • The latest available Windows updates are required.
  • McAfee VirusScan Enterprise provided by Marist is required. Other versions of McAfee or other antivirus software such as Norton, Symantec, AVG, et cetera are not acceptable. Please visit: http://www.marist.edu/it/resnet/antivirus.html
  • Cisco AnyConnect client is required to access the wireless network. Please visit: http://www.marist.edu/it/network/vpn.html
  • Cisco NAC Agent is required to check computer for updates and antivirus. When you are on the Marist network, open a web browser to be re-directed to the login page. Use Marist account credentials to login.
  • Windows Operating Systems prior to Windows Vista are not allowed on the network (WinXP).
  • User needs the ability to install any missing requirements (Administrative Access).

 Mac

  • The latest available Mac OSX software updates are required.

 iPad/iPhone/iTouch

To connect your Apple device to the network you will have to install the Cisco AnyConnect App from the App Store.

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Search and install the Cisco AnyConnect App. 
  3. Open the App and click on Add VPN Connection.
  4. Add Server Address v1.marist.edu and click Save.
  5. When on campus connect to the wireless network “Airfox.”
  6. Turn on the App.
  7. Click the group and select Student.
  8. Sign in with your Marist account and click Connect.

 *Android devices are not supported and will not connect to the Marist network (Android OS, Kindle, Nook).
