Dialing Instructions

HOLD

HOLD allows you to temporarily hang up on the line, to attend to another matter, without disconnecting your caller.

  • PRESS HOLD
  • HANG UP RECEIVER/HANDSET
To Reconnect:
  • PRESS THE LINE BUTTON OF THE CALL HOLDING
  • PICK UP RECEIVER/HANDSET

TRANSFER

TRANSFER allows you to send a call to another extension or the operator, on campus.

  • PRESS TRANSFER
  • DIAL 4-DIGIT EXTENSION NUMBER
  • ANNOUNCE CALL TO RECEIVING PARTY
  • HANG UP RECEIVER/HANDSET

You may hang up once you hear ringing from the dialed extension. Announcing the caller may not be necessary. Remember to tell the calling party that Phonemail may answer them.

CALL PICK UP

Call pick up allows you to pick up a call to another extension from your extension as long as you know the other extension's number.

  • GET DIAL TONE
  • PRESS *3
  • DIAL THE NUMBER OF THE RINGING EXTENSION

CONFERENCE CALL

Conference calling allows up to eight parties in a conversation. Call the first person, and then use the steps below to add each new party.

  • PRESS FLASH
  • DIAL NEXT EXTENSION NUMBER OR DIAL 9 AND THE OUTSIDE NUMBER
  • PRESS CONF BUTTON OR FLASH *4 TO CONNECT EACH PARTY

CONNECT

CONNECT allows you to answer a second call in response to the "call waiting" tone.

  • HEAR CALL-WAITING TONE
  • PRESS "CONNECT"

The first caller will be put on "standby hold", while you are talking to the second caller. To alternate between the two callers, press "CONNECT" again.

CONSULTATION

CONSULTATION CALL allows you to talk privately with a second party while the first party is waiting.

During a call, to consult with a second party;

  • PRESS "FLASH"
  • DIAL EXTENSION

To reconnect to the first caller;

  • PRESS CONNECT

To alternate between callers;

  • PRESS CONNECT

CALL FORWARDING

CALL FORWARDING allows you to have your call ring at another extension on Marist Campus.

To forward your calls:

  • GET DIAL TONE (lift receiver/handset or press line button)
  • DIAL # 9
  • DIAL DESTINATION EXTENSION (where the calls are to ring)
  • HANG UP

Light on the line button will "flicker" as long as calls are forwarded.

To cancel CALL FORWARDING;

  • GET DIAL TONE
  • PRESS # # 9
  • HANG UP

To forward to Phonemail;

  • GET DIAL TONE
  • DIAL # 9
  • DIAL 3001 or 3003 ( whichever Phonemail number is assigned to your School or Office)

PARK

PARK allows you to transfer a call to an extension and hold it there. A tone is generated in the called party's ear if they are on the phone. The "call-waiting" light will also start to flash.

  • GET DIAL TONE
  • DIAL * 6 AND DESTINATION EXTENSION
  • HANG UP

To answer a PARKED call

  • LIFT HANDSET
  • PRESS THE FLASHING LINE BUTTON OR CONNECT BUTTON

CALLBACK CAMP-ON

CALLBACK CAMP-ON allows you to camp and hang up. Your extension will ring back with a long ring when the busy extension becomes free.

  • DIAL MARIST EXTENSION
  • LISTEN FOR BUSY SIGNAL
  • PRESS # 1
  • HANG UP

CAMP light will remain lit while waiting for ringback. To cancel Callback Camp-On:

  • GET DIALTONE
  • PRESS # # 1
  • HANG UP

REPERTORY DIALING

REPERTORY DIALING allows you to set a Repdial ( R ) button to automatically dial a number or invoke a feature.

To set up or change a Repdial ( R ) button:

  • GET DIALTONE
  • PRESS * 566
  • PRESS DESIRED REPDIAL ( R ) BUTTON
  • DIAL EXTENSION, OUTSIDE NUMBER OR DESIRED FEATURE SEQUENCE
  • HANG UP

To make a Repdial Call:

  • PRESS THE DESIRED REPDIAL ( R ) BUTTON
