Languages can be integrated in a student's program of studies in various ways. Through substitutions options, a student may apply Modern Languages courses at the intermediate level or above towards the fulfillment of 3 to 15 credits of the Core/Liberal Studies requirements. With good planning a student may also pursue a double major or a minor in Modern Languages to enhance his/her primary major, especially in conjunction with a semester or year of study abroad. We encourage you to consider the opportunities that another language will add to your career. Please note that Education students have a state mandated language requirement, and that some individual programs of study at Marist have their own requirements in the area of foreign cultures or language study.
