Lecture Commemorates Magna Carta's 800th Anniversary
In Fall 2015, the Pre-Law Society recognized the 800th
anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta, as well
as Constitution Day, with a lecture by Dr. Ray Raymond.
Dr. Raymond is Associate Professor of Government and
History at SUNY Ulster and a former member of Her
Majesty's Diplomatic Service (HMDS). His lecture,
"Magna Carta: Foundation for the United States
Constitution and Declaration of Independence,"
highlighted the enduring legacy of the charter
authored by King John and his barons in 1215. The
event also included a dinner attended by Dr. Raymond,
members of the Pre-Law Society, and student
participants in the Hansard Scholars Programme.
